About to start Season 8 at Episode 2 for some reason) it seems like even they realized 24 hour epoxy was a mean red herring, I haven't seen it come up in a few seasons. Having seen every episode now (well, except The Partizan, it has somehow avoided me, and I think last Christmas. Why did they get rid of that - I loved it. Good for him.ĮTA: Man, the early seasons have segments where the judges discuss each blade in more detail before ruling. Knowing Will will leave is a bummer, but it is hard to feel too bad 7 seasons is not exactly nothing. I now look dubiously at my kitchen knives. It is just cruel to have 24 hour epoxy on the shelf lol.The women I have seen so far have been impressive it's physically a lot harder for them, and the equipment is often sized awkwardly. The 3 hour limit in the first season when the competitors had never seen the show seemed a lot tougher than in the last season, when every smith has a really clear idea of what they are in for. Some of the early eliminations were sad, J.D., etc.Awful lot of episodes come down to two great blades, that was nice to see. Also, the embryonic "It can cut", "It's a killer" variants of Doug's catchphrases! Fun to see it evolve into the iconic phrasing of S6.The early seasons are missing the "It's not what your blade does the the, but what the does to your blade" spiel.Order of challenges seems to have changed up, with the strength test moving to first in the later seasons?.The contraptions for testing sucked, much prefer the hand beatings. At least someone moved on while missing parameters - this shocked me. The show was a lot less structured in the beginning.Burt Foster just showed up for the first time, and he is a hoot. So I am now through around S2E7, patiently waiting for the first Ben episode the season promo has him looking so young it cracks me up. So I end up on History, where (so far) all of seasons seem to be available. Then I looked on Hulu, but the first 2 seasons are missing. I went looking for BTJ, as I had heard good things, and was able to buy the 8 BTJ episodes from Google Play, really enjoyed those (and hey wow Dave and Ben!) Around my family's shows, I managed to watch all the episodes, enjoyed it quite a lot. So, like a lot of people, my first contact with this show was when Netflix threw S6 in my queue.

Five days later, on October 30, Jive published two art books The Summer Days & School Days Visual Collection and Summer Days Visual Guidebook. The first of these instances was a comics anthology by Junji Goto, fittingly titled Summer Days Comic Anthology, published by Comic XO on October 25, 2006. Summer Days never transitioned into a serialized manga, though it did make it into other print. Setsuna, being sad at having to cover for Sekai again takes a walk around and then runs into Makoto playing with his sister Itaru. After a day at the job she doesn't like it but says Sekai is coming back to work tomorrow but Sekai's illness is revealed to be the mumps, since she never got it when she was a child. Setsuna's enjoying her summer vacation before the start of second term when Sekai comes down with a cold and asks her to take her shift at her part-time waitress job. This does not mean the game happens before School Days, rather Makoto happens to be acquainted with the characters before the second semester starts. Progress can be saved at anytime in up to 100 slots.ĭiffering from School Days the game takes place during summer vacation, which is a few weeks before the second semester of a high school in Japan. After the player has viewed a specific part the ability to fast forward becomes available. The player can also turn on the ability to skip to the next choice, although if the player hasn't viewed a specific part the player will be stopped at those. The player is initially given the ability to pause, skip to the next part, return to the beginning of the current part and return to the beginning of a previous part. Like it's predecessor and unlike traditional visual novels that consist of the protagonist talking to static images of characters, Summer days is unusual in that it incorporates motion and voice, making it similar to an anime series. These choices change the course of the story and takes the player to one of the many endings. At predetermined intervals, the game presents the player with one or two choices to make, or the player can choose to not make a choice. Like School Days and other visual novels, Summer Days requires extremely minimal gameplay. You get a hand strap, a 32MB Memory Stick Pro Duo for game saves, a UMD demo sampler, wired earbuds with a remote, a soft case, a cleaning cloth, and the system itself. It even showed right up front what it included. The PSP overall had a much larger box than the DS. This is the first thing that you will notice before even picking up the system, so it makes sense, right? What system had the more attractive box, better pack-ins, and overall looks? This matters more than people think, especially for the casual gamer who doesn’t do extensive research beforehand or the non-gamers who make a spontaneous purchase. The DS had Zelda, and the PSP had God of War. I am honestly tired of these comparisons. Some genres were stronger on one system over another due to their button layout and unique hardware. Most people just pick the best-selling games and compare them, but the systems go deeper than that. I want to break down the categories into hardware, revisions, software, and then various game genres. I’ve owned both of these systems for many years now and have played a good majority of their libraries. People thought it would be full of gimmicky games and lack the essence of what made the Game Boy so great. I never got excited about it due to the less powerful hardware and the heavily criticized touch screen. The Nintendo DS was more of an afterthought. I made a wallpaper (see below) for it, prepped files to transfer to the measly 32MB memory card, and even picked out a case ahead of time. I hadn’t been that excited about a piece of hardware in my life. I used my allowance saved up for 6 months to slap down that $250. I pre-ordered the PSP when I was 14 years old. These two portables were a huge part of my early teen years. The entire game can be finished in under two hours as well, and then there’s a multiplayer mode that you can even subject your friends to. Every so often, a boss will be thrown at you, but they all play and act the same. I saved this for large groups of enemies. You can send your dog Shadow out to get a one-hit kill, but the bar needs to refill. You can dodge and slow-mo your way through enemies, but I found this pointless as the environments are too cramped for this. There’s one gameplay feature in the console version, and that’s bullet-time. There are no throwables like grenades, which would have come in handy as well. Enemies chew through your health with larger weapons, and life and armor pickups aren’t very common. You want to do the most destruction as quickly as possible. ![]() Weapons range from silenced pistols, machine guns, and even a heavy.50 caliber machine gun, but who cares? Dual-wielding is always the way to go for one-handed weapons. Some areas have fewer enemies than others, but once you shoot your way through, you kick down a door and move on to the next boring area to continue this process. ![]() Self-powered means your DAC won’t draw additional power from the USB port. Self-powered USB DAC with optional USB hubĪ self-powered USB DAC is an ideal starting point. There’s a limitation of bitrate however so you are not going to be able to play high-resolution 24bit tracks directly. That’s great news because it means you can practically take any iDevice running iOS 7 or later – this includes iPads, iPhones or iPod Touches – and connect an external DAC (digital-to-audio converter) with USB input. With the advent of iOS 7, Apple has officially announced support for streaming digital audio. ![]() Heck, more than 95% of my CD collection is available “in the cloud” anyway, so why bother setting up complicated streaming servers when Qobuz does the trick? But I just don’t see the value when I’m mostly streamig these days and rarely go back to my local library. After all, why do I have to pay when the native apps already output full high-res material, right? Don’t get me wrong, I really love Roon (also still have an Audirvana license as backup – although I refuse to go with their subscription plan) and will probably continue using it. I’m also tired of paying boatloads of cash for “audiophile” specialist software like Roon or Audirvana just to get a good digital output signal. Of course being an audiophile, I kept wondering whether I could outperform Apple’s built-in DAC chip. ![]() My plan is to use my favorite apps including Qobuz, Tidal and Apple Music with the hope of the sound quality being good enough for my main rig. But you CAN get way better sound quality by using an external DAC! Why use an external DAC? A simple 3.5mm to RCA cable is all it takes to hook up your iDevice to your stereo system. The sound quality is actually more than decent at full volume level. Apple has been using Wolfson chipsets from the very beginning but later moved to Cirrus Logic chipsets – pretty good choices for a mobile device. IntroductionĪpple’s iPhone is pretty well known to offer excellent sound quality through its analog outputs that is head and shoulders above the competition.
